KARACHI – Australia’s star pacer Mitchell Starc has completed the milestone of 100 Test matches, earning widespread praise — including from Pakistan’s legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram.
Starc reached the landmark during Australia’s recent Test match against the West Indies.
The left-arm seamer joins an elite list of bowlers to have played a century of Test matches, marking a major achievement in the era of limited-overs cricket.
Congratulating Starc on the feat, former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram said the Australian quick’s commitment to the longest format of the game is commendable.
“Playing 100 Test matches in today’s era is a huge accomplishment. It reflects a cricketer’s true talent and dedication,” Akram remarked.
He noted that despite being active in T20 and league cricket, Starc’s focus and consistency in red-ball cricket remain unmatched.
“This milestone shows where his priorities lie. His passion and endurance for the longer format make him stand out. To me, Mitchell Starc is one of the greatest cricketers of the modern era,” Akram added.
