KARACHI – Gold prices soared to Rs359,700 in Pakistan, just shy of a historic high, as bullion witnessed massive buying in international market.
Data shared by Saraffa Association shows the price of gold per tola climbing by Rs1,600 to Rs359,700 in local market while the price of 10 grams of gold also increased by Rs1,371, reaching Rs308,384.

This uptick follows a similar rise over the weekend. On Saturday, gold prices had jumped by Rs1,100 per tola, settling at Rs358,100.
Internationally, the price of gold climbed by $16, with the rate touching $3,372 per ounce, including a $20 premium. The global rally in gold is being attributed to ongoing economic uncertainty and strong safe-haven demand.
In addition to gold, silver prices also posted gains in the local market. The price of silver rose by Rs65 per tola, reaching Rs4,087.
Traders expect precious metals to remain volatile in the coming days, driven by fluctuations in the international market and currency exchange rates.
