TEHRAN – Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday extended congratulations to President Pezeshkian on Iran’s “great victory” in the recent war initiated by Israel.
Mohsin Naqvi praised the Iranian nation and its leadership for standing firmly against aggression, stating, “The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, through his wise leadership and your strategic command, played a decisive role in the war. This is a source of pride for the entire Muslim Ummah.”
He was holding an important meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran, where both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, Pakistan-Iran relations and bilateral cooperation.
Naqvi emphasized that Pakistan strongly condemned the attack on Iran at every international forum. “Our parliament was the first to pass a resolution denouncing the imposition of war on Iran and supported Iran’s legitimate right to self-defense,” he said. The minister also conveyed best wishes and deep respect from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to the Iranian President.
President Pezeshkian, in response, expressed profound appreciation for Pakistan’s steadfast support during the conflict. “We will never forget how Pakistan stood by us during the war,” he said, adding that Iran attaches great importance to its relations with Pakistan.
He warned of attempts by the Zionist regime to create division and weakness among Muslim countries, stressing that “unity and harmony among Islamic nations are essential.” He further noted that if Muslim governments fully recognize the importance of Islamic unity, they can form a united front against the Zionist regime.
President Pezeshkian expressed satisfaction over the current bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan and underscored the importance of expanding comprehensive cooperation through diplomatic exchanges and constructive dialogue.
He thanked Pakistan for its sincere support during the war imposed by Israel and stressed that both nations have immense potential for strengthening collaboration.
Also present at the meeting were Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, the Iranian President’s Special Assistant, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistanand Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran.
