KARACHI – Pakistan on Wednesday secured its place in the semifinals of the Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship 2025 with a commanding 3-0 victory over Indonesia in the quarter league stage of the tournament, currently underway in Thailand.
The straight-sets win not only secured Pakistan’s spot in the final four but also earned the team qualification for the upcoming World Junior Volleyball Championship — a major milestone for the young squad.
The official sources said Pakistan dominated the match, not dropping a single set against Indonesia. The team has become the first to qualify for the semifinals of the prestigious continental event.
Pakistan is scheduled to face Iran on Thursday in what will be a formality match, as the side has already advanced from the group.
Earlier in the tournament, the Pakistani team showcased exceptional form in Group D, defeating South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Chinese Taipei to top the group without a single loss.
Pakistan entered the quarter league as group champions and continued to emerge as a serious title contender in the championship, with an unbeaten record and a strong all-round performance.
