LAHORE – More monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Thursday night and Friday with occasional gaps.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a seasonal low lies over north Balochistan with its trough extending northeastwards. A westerly wave is also present over the upper parts of the country. Due to this weather system, light to moderate monsoon currents are affecting the upper parts and are likely to persist during the next 18 to 24 hours.
Under these conditions, rains and gusty winds are expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal and Layyah on Thursday night and Friday with occasional gaps.
Lahore’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 29°C and 31°C on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, widespread rains with heavy to hefty falls occurred in Islamabad and parts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.
