RAWALPINDI – Commander-in-Chief of Libyan Armed Forces Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar called Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir for talks on regional security.
The visit underscores the growing commitment between Pakistan and Libya to deepen strategic military ties and work together for peace and stability in the region.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said two commanders discussed matters of mutual interest, including regional security dynamics, defence collaboration, and evolving security challenges.
Both sides agreed to boost bilateral military cooperation by exploring avenues for defence industrial collaboration and the exchange of technical expertise. The initiative aims to enhance both countries’ capacity to respond to modern security threats.
Upon his arrival, Libyan commander laid a wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada to pay tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan Army martyrs. He was received with full military honours, including a guard of honour presented by a well-turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army.
