Punjab Senior and Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan announced on Wednesday that Abdul Aleem Khan Foundation (AAKF) would revamp the dialysis wards of Mayo and Services Hospitals and equipped with state-of-the-art machines and new beds.
Provincial minister Abdul Aleem Khan made the announcement during inspection of various wards during his visit to Mayo and Services Hospitals here on Wednesday.
The minister said that the AAKF will also purchase all necessary equipment for both the wards in these hospitals. He said that the initiative aim at improving welfare of the patients and providing better health facilities to the common man visiting government hospitals.
Abdul Aleem Khan said that his foundation is active in various welfare projects, which is not taking funds from other organizations and is a self-financed endeavor. Under the auspices of the AAKF, several steps have been taken for the reform in Kot Lakhpat Jail and welfare of the inmates, while residential and educational residences for orphaned girls are also functioning in Lahore. The senior minister said AAKF Secretary Brig (r) Khalid Bashir to complete the proposed work at the dialysis wards in both the hospitals as soon as possible. He also got a detailed briefing from the Medical Superintendents of both the hospitals who informed about the facilities and services provided by the administration of both the hospitals.
They thanked Senior Punjab Minister Abdul Aleem Khan for his co-operation and termed it as great news especially for dialysis patients. In his conversation, Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said that providing better facilities was their first responsibility and all philanthropists besides the Government must do their part to serve the suffering humanity. He said that Abdul Aleem Khan Foundation is already running welfare schemes in various hospitals and now dialysis wards have also been added.
