In a recent gathering at the monthly meeting of Hamdard Shura, titled “Need for Accountability Process,” intellectuals and scholars emphasized the importance of accountability in making Pakistan a developed, prosperous, and dignified nation.
Professor Dr. Riaz Ahmed, President of Anjuman Faizul Islam and Speaker of Hamdard Shura, highlighted that Islam champions accountability and reform. “Accountability is not just a slogan; it needs to be a practical reality,” he stressed.
National President of Hamdard Shura, Ms. Sadia Rashid, underscored the need for a fair and transparent accountability system, free from political influence. “Every citizen should be part of this process to eliminate corruption, injustice, and nepotism,” she added. Other prominent speakers, including Hakeem Bashir Bhairavi, Dr. Farhat Abbas, and Dr. Afzal Babar, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the importance of impartiality and independence in accountability institutions.
The intellectuals collectively demanded that the government establish an accountability system based on the principles of the Quran, Sunnah, and Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). They believed that this would ensure the proper use of public resources and promote honest performance by state institutions.
