Administrator Laiq for improving KMC revenue collection

Administrator Karachi Laiq Ahmed has said that improving the collection of Municipal Utility Charges Tax will increase the revenue of KMC and provide more LG facilities to the citizens. MUCT bills are printed and sent to the citizens on monthly basis. In order to reduce the burden of paying quarterly bills on consumers and facilitate payment, the use of information technology can lead to innovation and further improvement in the areas of delivery and payment of municipal utility charges, tax bills and computer and payroll. He was speaking on the occasion of a visit to the offices of Municipal Utility Charges Tax, Computer and Payroll at the Karachi Metropolitan Municipality. He was accompanied by the concerned officers on the occasion. Administrator Karachi Laiq Ahmed spoke on the occasion. He reviewed in detail the process of preparation of bills and liaison with the citizens and directed that a mechanism should be devised for the delivery of bills to the consumers which would speed up the recovery and give the consumers no chance to lodge any complaint. “For financial stability,” he said,It is important to pay attention to the sources and resources of revenue. Local bodies are responsible for providing basic services to the citizens. Therefore, improving the resource situation is directly related to providing services and facilities to the citizens.
