ZHOB – Another heartbreaking incident comes after recent Swat River tragedy that claimed 17 lives, flash floods have once again brought devastation and this time in Balochistan’s Zhob district.
Four members of a family including two children, and women were swept away along with vehicles amid raging flood stream. According to district officials, the incident occurred at Killi Takai in Zhob, where the family attempted to cross a swollen seasonal stream.
Two vehicles, Toyota Fielder and Suzuki Alto, were caught in the powerful floodwaters during the crossing attempt.
Rescue teams managed to save two passengers from the Fielder. In the Alto, three individuals were on board; tragically, only one woman was rescued, while two children were swept away and later confirmed dead.

In total, four people two women and two children lost their lives, while two others were injured and taken to a local medical facility.
This tragedy follows closely on the heels of the Swat River disaster, where 17 people were swept away by a sudden surge in the river. The back-to-back incidents have raised serious concerns over public safety and disaster preparedness during the ongoing monsoon season.
