LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 132 illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulter premises in different areas of Lahore on Thursday.
LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 42 buildings in Gulberg, New Garden Town and Faisal Town, 66 in Shadman, Shah Jamal, Gulshan-e-Ravi and Shadbagh, and 24 in Mustafa Town and on Wahdat Road during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include Askari Bank, Allied Bank limited, The Bank of Punjab, Ideas, Limelight, Zelburi, Ismail’s, Juniper, Rollover, Kids Heaven, Step Shoes & Bags, Eckofit Shoes, Dar-e-Arqam School, The Candour School, Kanz-ul-Iman Beacon School, Royal Heaven School, MGS Academy, Shifa Medical Centre, Hassan Orthopedic Hospital & Poly Clinic, clinical labs, workshops, grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, offices, and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
According to the LDA spokesperson, several notices were served to these buildings’ owners before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violations of bylaws, illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulters across Lahore.
