The authorities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir continued to use various tactics to harass the Kashmiri people during last year’s “Har Ghar Taranga” programme and have decided to stop two increments of a government employee in the name of insulting the Indian flag.
The Housing and Urban Development Depart-ment has ordered the suspension of two increments of the then Executive Officer Municipal Committee, Magam, Syed Ijaz Manzoor, who was suspended after distributing Indian flags in garbage bins in Magam, Budgam.
The Department of Housing and Urban Devel-opment said in an order that on August 13, 2022, after a news item regarding the alleged desecration of the flag in Municipal Committee, Magam, went viral on social media, an inquiry was ordered into the incident and the Vice Chairman of Srinagar Development Authority was asked to inquire.
The inquiry officer in his report submitted to the Housing and Urban Development Department that the then Executive Officer Municipal Committee Magam Syed Ijaz Manzoor was negligent in performing his official duty regarding the maintenance and distribution of the Indian flags.
It is to be mentioned that the Indian government had distributed Indian flags among the people on a large scale under the “Har Ghar Taranga” program on the occasion of Independence Day last year.—KMS
