Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah held separate meetings on Friday with the Consuls General of Thailand and Qatar to discuss cultural ties and investment opportunities in the province. During his meeting with Thailand’s newly appointed Consul General, Surashete Boontinand, the Chief Minister welcomed him to Sindh and assured full cooperation from the provincial government.
The Thai Consul General expressed a desire to visit rural Sindh, to which the Chief Minister recommended trips to Sukkur Barrage, Mohenjo-daro, and Tharparkar, noting that “the weather is pleasant, making it the perfect time to explore these historic sites.” The Thai Consul General described Karachi as a vibrant and beautiful city with top-tier schools.
The Chief Minister praised Thai cuisine, stating, “I enjoy Thai food and often visit Thai restaurants whenever I get the chance.” Murad Ali Shah further remarked that the people of Thailand and Sindh share cultural similarities, particularly in the importance given to family values in both societies. In a separate meeting with Qatar’s Consul General, Naif Shaheen Al-Sulaiti, the Chief Minister invited the Qatar Investment Authority to explore opportunities in Sindh.
The Qatari Consul General assured that Qatari investors would soon visit the province and expressed interest in making investments. Al-Sulaiti also extended an invitation to the Chief Minister to attend Qatar’s National Day celebrations, to which Murad Ali Shah congratulated Qatar and its citizens on the occasion.
