Punjab Minister for Local Bodies and Community Development Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed has said that the PTI government is committed to provide high-quality municipal services to the citizens in every nook and cranny of the province.
“We are introducing the most effective local government system in province in which 30% of development budget will go directly to the Village Council.”
Chairing a meeting at Deputy Commissioner Office in Narowal on Sunday, Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed said in line with vision of the Prime Minister and the Punjab Chief Minister, transparency in development projects is the first priority.
He said that Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has given a record package for the development of Narowal district.
“Funds have also been released for immediate start of development projects and mega development project have been started in Narowal.”
The minister pointed out that completion of these projects under district development package will change the masses life for better, adding that it will usher in a new era of prosperity in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Nabila Irfan, ADCG, and other officers were also present on the occasion. The minister directed the Deputy Commissioner to prepare a master plan for the entire district.
He said that a summary will be sent to the Chief Minister for further improvements in drinking water system, sanitation, sewerage, and solid waste management projects.
The shortage of manpower and funds facing by the district institutions will also be overcome.
DC Nabila Irfan briefed the minister and said that a comprehensive program has been launched for implementation of development package in the district. All the schemes are being completed as per the timeline set by the CM Office.
For the first time, development funds have been provided to Narowal district according to its volume and importance.
