ISLAMABAD – Eid ul Adha is slated to be celebrated on June 17, 2024 as Zil Hajj moon has been sighted in Peshawar on Friday.
Zonal Sighting of the Crescent Committee has confirmed the sighting of the Zil Hajj moon in Peshawar during their meeting on Friday. This marks the beginning of the Islamic month of Zul-Hijjah, which includes the celebration of Eid al-Adha.
The Zonal Committee has verified the sighting, but the official announcement will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which is the authoritative body for moon sighting declarations in Pakistan.
Zonal Committee spokesperson said they have received credible reports of the moon sighting from various parts of Peshawar, and parts of KP.
Eid ul Azha 2024
Ruet body members will hold a press conference after sunset and the final decision will be made after consultation. Maulana Khabir Azad told media that there are wide chances of moon sighting today, he further urged people to sight crescent.
When is Eid ul Azha in Pakistan?
The exact date of Eid ul Azha depends on the moon sighting and will be announced on Friday.

During this major festival, families and friends gather to share meals, exchange gifts, and enjoy social activities. The festive atmosphere lasts for several days, with people visiting each other’s homes and participating in community events.
