The announcement allows for an extended break for public sector employees and many in the private sector, as the nation prepares to celebrate one of the most significant Islamic festivals. Eid al-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah.
All state institutions, including schools, government offices, and most businesses, are expected to remain closed during the holiday period. Citizens are advised to make travel and celebration plans accordingly.
