DUBAI – All UAE nationals, GCC nationals and expatriate residents are required to immediately apply for the Emirates ID Card if they lost it as absence of the card can land them in a trouble.
Emirates ID is an identity card issued by the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security-ICP.
It is a legal requirement for all UAE citizens and residents to apply for one and carry it with them at all times.
The Emirates ID can be to avail government services and to vote in the elections of Federal National Council.
It can also be used as a travel document for UAE citizens to travel within the GCC. The Emirates ID can also be used as a document to pass immigration through the eGates and smart gates at several airports in the UAE.
Where to Apply for Emirates ID Replacement
A UAE national or resident can apply for Emirates ID card replacement through the website of Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security – ICP, or through an accredited typing centre.
The applicant might need to visit one of ICP’s service centres to provide your biometric details.
Emirates ID Card Replacement Fee
As per the reports, the applicant is required to pay AED 300 in wake of fee for replacement of a lost Emirates ID.
Additionally, the applicant will pay application fees of AED 70 in case of applying through typing centres, or AED 40 in case of applying through the eForm on the ICA website.
