ISLAMABAD – Field Marshal General Asim Munir is scheduled to hold an important meeting today with US President Donald Trump, marking a historic development in bilateral ties.
The White House has confirmed the meeting, stating that it would take in the Cabinet Room, and journalists will not be allowed to attend it.
However, it is expected that if President Trump speaks to the media or posts on social media, he may share some details regarding the meeting.
A top security source has also confirmed that this meeting will take place today in the US at 1:00 pm EST, which is around 10:00 pm Pakistan time.
A day year, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who is on an official visit to United States, interacted with the overseas Pakistani community in Washington DC, ISPR said in a press release.
COAS and the overseas Pakistanis pledged to work together towards a more secure, prosperous, and resilient Pakistan.
The COAS received a warm reception and welcome from the overseas Pakistanis, who gathered in large numbers to meet him.
The diaspora warmly appreciated the outstanding performance of the Armed Forces during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos / Marka-e-Haq, showcasing their bravery and professionalism.
During the interaction, the COAS expressed his deep appreciation for the vital and most significant role being played by overseas Pakistanis for being ambassadors of Pakistan.
He acknowledged their contributions to the Pakistan’s economy, and global reputation by contributing actively through remittances, investments and higher achievements in other domains.
The overseas Pakistanis shared their experiences and suggestions with the army chief.
Field Marsha Asim Munir emphasized the importance of engagement with the overseas Pakistanis, highlighting the need for continued collaboration and cooperation to address common challenges and promote cooperation.
