ISLAMABAD – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir sent strong message to India on Kashmir and Water issue, as Modi led government is making desperate attempts to deteriorate regional peace.
The country’s top general made clear that Pakistan will never compromise on the Kashmir issue, reaffirming the country’s longstanding and resolute position on the disputed region. Speaking at a gathering of university vice chancellors, principals, and senior educators, Gen Munir commended recent successful military response to Indian aggression, noting that Pakistan’s commitment to truth and unity continues to be a source of strength.
“When the entire nation stands united, no force in the world can break it,” he added.
He highlighted ongoing human rights violations in Indian-occupied Kashmir, and added Pakistan would never accept any settlement that undermines the Kashmiri cause. He added India must realize that Pakistan will always stand by Kashmir. We will never forget or abandon this issue.
He condemned New Delhi’s unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, describing it as a violation of international agreements and an attack on Pakistan’s fundamental rights. “Water is a red line for Pakistan, and we will not allow the rights of 240 million Pakistanis to be compromised,” he declared.
COAS lamented criticized India’s internal policies, pointing to increasing oppression and discrimination against minorities, especially Muslims. “Terrorism in India is its own internal crisis, stemming from rising extremism. Meanwhile, Kashmir remains a global issue that cannot be ignored,” he concluded.
Addressing teachers, Gen Asim stressed the pivotal role of educationists in shaping the nation’s future. “Teachers are among the greatest assets of Pakistan. My own journey would not have been possible without the guidance of my parents and teachers,” he said.
He urged the academic community to instill strong national values in future generations and to preserve and pass down the true story of Pakistan. “It is your responsibility to ensure our youth understand and carry forward the legacy of this country,” he added.
