RAWALPINDI – Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), met with Colonel General Hasanov Zakir Asgar Oglu, Minister of Defence, Azerbaijan, in Lachin, Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, and ways to further enhance defence cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
The COAS appreciated the strong bilateral relations between the two countries and emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening defence ties with Azerbaijan.
A day earlier, Field Marshal Asim Munir discussed collaboration on security and counterterrorism efforts along their shared border with Chief of Staff of Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri.
During recent talks, Iranian top general Bagheri stressed both nations to eliminate terrorism on both sides of border. He highlighted success of existing coordination between their armed forces in managing border control and called for further strengthening of cooperation.
Pakistan Field Marshal acknowledged valuable experience held by Iranian Armed Forces in various military fields and expressed his commitment to deepening ties between Islamabad and Tehran.
The meeting stressed ongoing efforts by Iran and Pakistan to promote regional stability through joint security initiatives and enhanced military collaboration.
