ISLAMABAD – Country Director for Pakistan at the International Labour Organization (ILO) Mr. Geir T. Tonstol paid courtesy visit to President Pakistan Observer Gauhar Zahid Malik at the newspaper’s headoffice in Islamabad.
During meeting, Mr Malik and visiting dignitary engaged in productive discussion on matters of mutual interest, particularly focusing on media’s role in advancing social justice, decent work, and labor rights in South Asian nation.
Digital Editor & Team Lead at Pakistan Observer Mr. Abdullah Malik also interacted with Mr. Tonstol who appreciated PO’s longstanding commitment to impartial and fair journalism, emphasizing the importance of a free press in promoting accountability and social equity.
In recognition of Mr. Tonstol’s contributions towards fostering decent work and advocating for labor rights in Pakistan, Mr. Gauhar Zahid Malik presented him with a souvenir, symbolizing the newspaper’s support for the ILO’s mission.
