KARACHI – Renowned Pakistani actress Hina Bayat has voiced her frustration over the lack of basic facilities at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, particularly the unavailability of water in washrooms.
Taking to her Instagram account on Youm-e-Takbeer — a day marking Pakistan’s nuclear achievements — the veteran actress shared a video message highlighting the poor maintenance of the airport’s facilities.
“Today is Youm-e-Takbeer, a day when we should be celebrating Pakistan’s progress and success,” Bayat said. “But here I am at Jinnah International Airport, and there’s no water in any of the washrooms. This is unacceptable.”

The actress did not hold back in her criticism of the authorities, questioning the deteriorating condition of public infrastructure. “Why have our airports and institutions reached this state? No one is willing to accept that these are serious issues that need to be addressed,” she stated.
Bayat further pointed out the inconsistency in the country’s development priorities, saying, “New projects are being launched every day, yet existing ones — including something as fundamental as washroom maintenance at an international airport — are being neglected. It’s deeply disappointing.”
Her remarks have sparked a conversation on social media, with many users echoing her concerns and urging authorities to take immediate action to improve basic amenities at public facilities.
