Government has started evaluating the withholding tax on vehicles, including Honda City, on the basis of invoice price instead of collecting fixed amount on the basis of engine capacity.

The change in the policy was introduced by the government in budget for fiscal year 2024-25, a move that has jacked up the prices of Honda City and other vehicles in the country.

Honda City New Prices in Pakistan From July 2024

The ex-factory price of Honda City 1.2LS MT stands at 4,649,000, Honda CityLS CVT Rs4,689,000, Honda City 1.5LS CVT Rs5,439,000 and City Aspire 1.5 LAC CVT’s ex-factory price stands at Rs5,849,000.

Previously, the government collected following fixed withholding tax on the basis of the engine capacity:

As the policy has been changed, the government now collects withholding tax on the basis of the invoice price. It charges 1.5% WHT of the value on vehicles with engine capacity of 1001 to 1300cc from filers and 4.5% from non-filers. It collects 2% WHT from filers on vehicles with engine capacity of 1301 to 1600cc and 6% WHT from non-filers.
