LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has formally launched a program to provide insulin for free of cost to children suffering from diabetes.
A day earlier, the chief minister personally visited the homes of young patients in various areas of Lahore along with delivery riders and distributed ‘CM Insulin Cards’ herself.
She visited the Q-Block Sabzazar with a rider to hand over insulin cards to young children.
Young patients Wasay Adnan, Zainab Waheed, and Zain Shehzad were given insulin cards, glucometers, BSR strips, and needle boxes.
The chief minister hugged Wasay Adnan’s grandmother and inquired about the family’s wellbeing. Maryam Nawaz also promised to send a car for Wasay Adnan.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that she understands the pain and struggles of children suffering from diabetes. She emphasized that the government will reach out to those children who cannot afford medicine or insulin.
Under the Free Insulin Program, 1,500 children will be provided insulin at their doorsteps in the first phase.
It is recalled that the chief minister had announced the program in December 2024.
How to Apply for CM Punjab Free Insulin Program?
According to the Primary and Secondary Health Department, there are three ways to apply for the Punjab Free Insulin Program for children suffering from diabetes.
1 – Call 1033 helpline and register for the program by providing the required details
2 – Download HISDU Mobile Apps (https://hisduapps.pshealthpunjab.gov.pk/) and register for the free insulin program
3 – Visit nearby NCD clinic and provide require details to register with insulin program
