LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 151 illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulter premises during operations in different housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas last Tuesday.
LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 20 buildings in Gulberg, 67 in PIA Colony and Audit and Accounts Scheme, 43 in Shadman, Shah Jamal, Gulshan-e-Ravi and on Canal Bank Road, and 21 in Mustafa Town and on Wahdat Road for illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include Minahil & Zouha, Huma’s Signature Salon, Dental Arts, International Muslim School, private hospitals, clinical labs, workshops, grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, offices, and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
According to the LDA officials, several notices were served to these buildings’ owners before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulters in LDA-controlled areas.
Bank Alfalah, Allied Bank, Sindh Bank, Sabroso among 138 sealed in Lahore
