IESCO Chief Mr. Shahid Iqbal ch said that in all five circles of IESCO giving our best to eliminate power theft. During the month of January 2020 on ground of slow/defective meters and power theft caught more than 2000 electricity meter. 1913 meters were found slow/ defective and 98 customers were using direct supply by different ways. On account of power theft and slow/ defective meter more than 24 Lac units charged and fine of Rs. 4 core 63Lac imposed to related users.
For legal proceeding applications against 113 customers have been submitted in relative police stations. IESCO Chief said that in accordance of Federal Government and Ministry of energy (Power Division) directions this campaign will continue until the last power thief is captured. IESCO Chief requested to valued customers to take part in this National campaign and if they saw someone steeling electricity or any IESCO employee providing assistance in power theft, please call on IESCO help line 118 or complaint and monitoring cell Nos. 051-9252933-36 so that extreme measure can be taken against enemies.
