Inspector-General Police Qazi Jamil ur Rehman has underlined the need to evolve the Counter-Terrorism Department on modern lines so as to maintain peace in the society.
He expressed these views as he visited the department on Wednesday. SSP CTD Dr. Khurram Rasheed briefed the IGP about different sections of the departments and their performance.
Speaking on the occasion, IGP Qazi Jamil ur Rehman said that the CTD was a backbone to the police force. He said the CTD was fully capable to fight terrorism in the country.
However, he said, there was a need to further strengthen it and evolve it on modern lines. He urged the high ups to arrange refresher courses for the personnel.
