Inspector General Punjab (IGP) Dr. Usman Anwar has released more than Rs 11.1 million to 18 officials of the police force for their treatment.
According to police spokesperson here on Sunday, traffic warden Mohsin Javed was given Rs18,30,000 for his sons cochlear implant. Constable Aamir Shahzad was given Rs 1 million for the treatment of liver cancer. Constable driver Mukhtar Ahmed was given Rs 1 million for the treatment of his sons kidneys. Traffic Warden Munir Afzal was given Rs 1 million for his wifes breast cancer treatment.
Azmat Abbas, a retired constable of Kasur, was given Rs 1 million for kidney transplant. Bahawalpur Inspector Muhammad Afzals wife was given Rs 1 million for cancer treatment. ASI Mahboob Aslam of Special Branch was given Rs 0.7 million for the treatment of his daughter. Constable Ghulam Abbas Klasis wife was given Rs 0.5 million for kidney treatment expenses. The rest of the money was given to officers and officials based on the requests received from different districts. IGP directed to use all the resources of the force for health welfare and said that the welfare branch should ensure immediate action on the requests received from all over the province and through health welfare measures, the affected employees should be given all possible benefits on the basis of merit.
Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has awarded gold medals to heirs of 24 martyrs and silver medals to 25 Ghazis of Punjab police.
Speaking at the ceremony of awarding medals to police martyrs and Ghazis at the Central Police Office (CPO), he said that martyrs and Ghazis of Punjab police have secured the future of the country by offering their lives and blood for the protection of lives and property of citizens.
Under the direction of Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, Welfare Branch was actively working day and night for the welfare of martyrs families and Ghazis. In this regard, Rs 8.3 million were released for medical treatment of personnel. These Ghazis were shot in the mission of suppressing robbers, bandits and criminals in different districts.
According to the details, in the meeting of the welfare committee, 43 cases received from across the province were carefully reviewed, the committee approved the release of funds for the treatment of 35 officials.
Chakwal Police Trainee Sub-Inspector Adnan Haider was given Rs 1 million, Rahim Yar Khan injured constable Muhammad Ayub and Asif Shehzad were also given Rs 1 million , similarly Rs 5.3 million were provided to other 32 Ghazis for medical expenses. IGP directed the Additional IG Welfare and Finance Riyaz Nazir Gara that welfare branch should continue to take measures for the welfare of police employees and provide all possible support to the affected employees by taking immediate action on the requests received from the districts.
He said that the welfare of the force was top priority so that personnel could concentrate all its attention on delivering justice to the people.
The IGP said Punjab police would never forget the sacrifices of its martyrs, adding that steps were being taken under a comprehensive strategy to give private homes to the families of martyrs who embraced martyrdom before 2017. He said that priority measures were being taken by the Welfare Branch for the early rehabilitation, treatment and provision of prosthetic limbs and equipment to police Ghazis while medals were being awarded to brave Ghazis who have successfully completed the most important mission.
