In the Toshakhana criminal case, the Islamabad High Court has upheld the non-bailable arrest warrants of former prime minister Imran Khan, while ordering the PTI chairman to present the undertaking before the trial court on today, Thursday.
Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Justice Amir Farooq disposed of Imran Khan’s warrant cancellation plea while pronouncing the reserved order.
The court ordered Imran Khan to file an application in this regard in the trial court and attach the undertaking given in the high court in the trial court.
Earlier in the day, the Islamabad High Court had reserved its verdict on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s request to cancel the arrest warrant of Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case.
Chief Justice Aamer Farooq presided over the hearing and scheduled Imran’s warrant cancellation request for hearing with objections, after which the registrar’s office issued a cause list.
The court removed the biometric and signature objections and directed the former premier’s lawyer to remove the remaining objections.
During the hearing, Justice Farooq remarked that IHC has given relief to the PTI chief before as well and despite this, it is unfortunate that the current events are taking place.
Justice Farooq then remarked that as of now, the PTI application is not fixed and he will hear the case once it is fixed.
