QUETTA – A group Indian-backed terrorists abducted and killed eight passengers of a bus travelling to Lahore from Quetta near Loralai area in Balochistan.
Reports said the terrorists intercepted the bus and offloaded the nine passengers after checking their identity cards and later shot them dead.
Zhob Assistant Commissioner Naveed Alam has confirmed the killing of passengers, saying the bodies have been shifted to a hospital for identification and further medico-legal procedure.
Reports said all the victims belonged to different cities of Punjab, indicating that it was an incident of target killing.
Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind condemned the attacks. He said the terrorists conducted three separate attacks in different parts of the province and these were thwarted successfully.
However, in a tragic incident, nine passengers travelling to Punjab were killed by terrorists. He called it an act of barbarism and vowed to eliminate the terrorists.
He said the authorities had already barred the passenger buses from travelling on the N-70 route due to security reasons but the ill-fated buses violated the security alert and departed in the evening.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the abduction and killing of bus passengers in Sardhaka area of Balochistan
“We will deal with terrorists with full force. The blood of innocent people will be avenged,” the prime minister said in a statement.
He said that the killing of unarmed civilians was a blatant terrorism by Fitnatul Hindustan.
“With resolve, unity, and strength, we will confront the scourge of terrorism and uproot it completely,” the premier said.
