NEW DELHI – Narendra Modi led Indian government made blunder in mistaking Pakistan overtures for peace as a sign of weakness, and ended up losing several jets including its prized multi-role fighter Rafale. As New Delhi refused to admit losses, BJP leader Subramanian Swam dropped bombshell, admitting Pakistan shot down Indian jets.
In his recent interview, Swamy said Pakistan Air Force shot down five Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets during recent conflict between the two nuclear-armed nation. He raised serious concerns about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating that any investigation into the matter is impossible while Modi remains in power.
He acknowledged Pakistan’s aerial prowess and commented on India’s defense procurement decisions, which raised eyebrows. “Chinese aircraft are apparently superior, while French jets have not performed well,” he added.
Responding to a question about the opposition’s demand for transparency regarding Indian losses, Swamy replied, “Pakistan shot down five of our aircraft, hoping that Prime Minister Modi would come forward to inform nation with honesty about the incident.
BJP seasoned leader made daring statement amid growing criticism of Modi government’s defense and foreign policies. According to defense analysts, Swamy has gone so far as to call for the resignation of both Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, citing their failed military strategies.
Several experts made it clear that Pakistan’s aerial might have exposed vulnerabilities in India’s approach and undermined Modi’s war hysteria doctrine, and it shifted balance of power in the region.
Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shot down several Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft, including Rafale jets, MiG-29, a Su-30, and drones. These incidents occurred across Jammu & Kashmir, with crashes reported in Anantnag, Pulwama, Ramban, Akhnoor, and Bathinda.
Multiple Indian pilots were injured or killed. Defense analysts called the operation a tactical success for Pakistan, exposing critical weaknesses in India’s air defense strategy.
