ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Army spokesperson and Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt-General Ahmed Sharif Choudhary reiterated Indian terrorism as official policy to destabilise Pakistan.
In interview with Al Jazeera, Lt Gen Sharif said New Delhi institutionalised terrorism against Pakistan through systematic planning and sustained efforts. He pointed to New Delhi’s support for anti-state militant groups, directly blaming Modi government for orchestrating attacks.
ISPR chief quoted recent deadly assault by Indian backed TTP in Waziristan in which over dozen Pak Army soldiers were martyred while 20 others suffered injuries.
“The evidence clearly shows that India is financing and facilitating these groups to create chaos inside Pakistan,” DG ISPR said, explained that Khawarij refers to militant elements rebelling against the state, based on a distorted religious ideology.
He reaffirmed that only the state has the authority to declare jihad, rejecting the legitimacy of armed non-state actors. “These groups are not only enemies of Pakistan but have nothing to do with Islam or our values,” he said.
He also accused India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval of overseing these anti-Pakistan operations and claimed that Indian political leadership has publicly acknowledged its involvement in such activities.
Turning to regional developments, ISPR chief denounced Israeli aggression against Tehran and expressed Pakistan’s full diplomatic and political support for Tehran. He warned that any military hostility against Muslim states could destabilise the broader region.
Our nuclear assets are fully protected, he said, adding that no country can challenge their security.
