ISLAMABAD – Rains and windstorms are predicted in the upper parts of Pakistan on June 03 and June 04 with occasional gaps.
Very hot and dry weather is expected in plain areas on Eid-ul-Azha holidays.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents are penetrating the northeastern parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave will likely approach the upper parts on 03rd June.
Under the influence of this weather system, Windstorms and rains with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms are expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, Galiyat, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, Battagram, Shangla, Kohistan and Abbottabad till June 05 with occasional gaps.
Windstorms and rains with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms are also expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Charsadda, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Kohat, Bannu, Karak and Waziristan on 03rd June (evening/night) and 04th June with occasional gaps. Windstorms are also expected in southern Punjab during the period.
Rains and windstorms are expected in Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan and Mansehra on Eid-ul-Azha holidays (June 07 evening/night to June 09).
Windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning may damage loose structures like electric poles, trees, vehicles and solar panels, etc, in the upper/central parts, including Islamabad.
Farmers are advised to manage their crop activities keeping in view the weather conditions. General public, travellers & tourists are advised to take precautionary measures during the weather activity.
