iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro Max PTA tax in Pakistan April 2024

In recent years, prices of Apple phones saw sharp increase amid rupee devaluation, changes in import policies, and taxes imposed by the government.

The government also introduced new regulations and taxes on imported mobile phones, including Customs Duty, Regulatory Duty, Sales Tax, and Federal Excise Duty, which have contributed to the increase in prices while, the global increase in prices of electronic components has also affected the cost of mobile phones in Pakistan.

The above-mentioned factors contributed to surge in older generation models such as the iPhone 12. PTA Tax was imposed to regulate the import and use of mobile phones, combat illegal imports, and enhance national security.
