ISLAMABAD – Rains and windstorms are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Monday night.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents penetrate the central and southern parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave also prevails over the upper/central parts and is likely to persist during the next two days.
Under these conditions, rains and windstorms are predicted in the twin cities and at isolated places in northeast/southern Punjab, Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, southeast/eastern Sindh and northeastern Balochistan on Monday night. Heavy rain may occur at one or two places in the upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
On Tuesday, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. Rains and windstorms are likely at isolated places in northeast Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and southeast/eastern Sindh.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 35°C and 37°C on Tuesday and between 36°C and 38°C on Wednesday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 35°C and 37°C on Tuesday and between 36°C and 38°C on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most parts of Pakistan during the last 24 hours. Very hot weather prevailed in the plain areas. However, rain occurred in isolated places.

Turbat remained the hottest place in Pakistan, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 47°C. The maximum temperature in Jacobabad was recorded at 46°C, and in Dadu, Mohenjo-Daro and Sibbi at 45°C.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 33 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 28 per cent.
