ISLAMABAD – More intermittent rains and gusty winds with isolated heavy falls are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents penetrate most parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave also affects most central/southern parts of the country.
Under these conditions, intermittent rains and gusty winds are expected in the twin cities, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and northeastern Balochistan on Monday night and the next two days. Heavy rains are also likely at isolated places in Kashmir, Punjab and Islamabad.
From July 7 to July 8, heavy rains may generate flash floods in local nullahs/streams of Murree, Galiyat, Manshera, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan, northeast Punjab, Kashmir and Balochistan. Downpour may cause urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Nowshera and Peshawar.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 34°C and 36°C on Tuesday and between 35°C and 37°C on Wednesday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 32°C and 34°C on Tuesday and between 33°C and 35°C on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, rains and gusty winds with isolated heavy falls occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Punjab, northeast/southwest Balochistan and Sindh during the last 24 hours.

Nokkundi remained the hottest place in Pakistan, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. The maximum temperature in Chilas was recorded at 45°C, in Dalbandin at 44°C , in Bunji at 43°C , and in Gilgit, Jacobabad, Khairpur, Okara, and Noorpur Thal at 41°C.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 92 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 65 per cent.
