KARACHI – Hot and dry weather prevailed in Karachi, Hyderabad and most districts of Sindh on Friday.
Experts have predicted that the prevailing harsh weather conditions will persist with increased intensity on Eid-ul-Azha and throughout the coming week.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. High pressure in the upper atmosphere prevails over the country, which will continue to persist during the next 04 to 05 days.
Under these conditions, heatwaves will prevail in Karachi, Hyderabad and most districts of Sindh on Eid-ul-Azha and for the 04 to 05 days.
Day temperatures will likely remain between 04°C and 06°C above normal levels in upper and central Sindh from 07th to 12th June.
Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 37°C and 39°C on Saturday and Sunday, and between 38°C and 40°C on Monday.
Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 42°C and 44°C on Saturday and Sunday, and between 43°C and 45°C on Monday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most districts of Sindh during the last 24 hours.
Dadu remained the hottest place in Sindh, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 47°C. The maximum temperature in Nawabshah was recorded at 46°C.
In Karachi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 59 per cent.
In Hyderabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 42°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 37 per cent.
