KARACHI – More widespread rains and gusty winds with scattered heavy falls are likely in Karachi, Hyderabad and parts of Sindh on Friday evening/night, Saturday and Sunday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate most parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave also prevails over most parts of the country.
Under these weather conditions, widespread rains and gusty winds are likely in Hyderabad, Karachi, Dadu, Badin, Ghotki, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Umerkot, Khairpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Qambar Shadadkot, Shaheed Benazirabad and surroundings on Friday evening/night, Saturday and Sunday.
Scattered heavy rains are also likely during the period. Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in low-lying areas of Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Thatta, Badin and Mirpur Khas.
Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 35°C and 37°C on Saturday and between 34°C and 36°C on Sunday.
Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 37°C and 39°C on Saturday and between 36°C and 38°C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, rains and gusty winds with isolated heavy falls occurred in Karachi and parts of Sindh during the last 24 hours.

Jacobabad remained the hottest places in Sindh, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. The maximum temperature in Mohenjo-Daro and Rohri was recorded at 45°C.
In Karachi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 78 per cent.
In Hyderabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 85 per cent.
