KARACHI – Significant rains and gusty winds are likely in parts of Sindh on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday with occasional gaps.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate most parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave also prevails over the upper parts.
Under these weather conditions, rains and gusty winds are likely at isolated places in Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Khairpur, Sukkur, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Dadu, Shahdadkot, Larkana and surroundings on Thursday night.
On Friday and Saturday, intermittent rains and gusty winds are likely in Dadu, Badin, Ghotki, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Khairpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad, Karachi and surroundings.
Isolated heavy rains are also likely during the period. Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in low-lying areas of Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana and Mirpur Khas on Friday and Saturday.
Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36°C and 38°C on Friday, between 35°C and 37°C on Saturday, and between 34°C and 36°C on Sunday.
Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38°C and 40°C on Friday, between 37°C and 39°C on Saturday, and between 36°C and 38°C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in Karachi and most districts of Sindh during the last 24 hours.
Dalbandin and Jacobabad remained the hottest places in Sindh, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. The maximum temperature in Mohenjo-Daro and Rohri was recorded at 45°C.
In Karachi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 60 per cent.
In Hyderabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 47 per cent.
