Karachi Weather Update
In latest advisory, PMD issued warnings of severe heatwave expected to persist through weekend and in next week. Daytime temperatures in northern and central regions including Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan are predicted to remain 5 to 7 degrees Celsius above normal.
Southern areas, such as Sindh, southern Punjab, and parts of Balochistan, will also see temperatures 4 to 6 degrees above average.
Met experts heatwave to prevailing continental air and a strong high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere, expected to linger for the next four to five days. Additionally, a shallow westerly trough may bring some changes to the weather in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during evenings and nights.
Residents are advised to take precautions against the extreme heat and stay updated on weather alerts as the hot spell continues.
