The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has decided to postpone two intermediate exams due to the upcoming by-elections scheduled for April 21 in the provincial capital.
In a letter addressed to the Commissioner of Lahore, the Controller of Examinations for the Lahore Board stated that 1,315 individuals, including superintendents, deputy superintendents, and invigilators, are assigned to election duties. Given this situation, it is not feasible to conduct exams as scheduled. Consequently, the Chemistry paper originally set for April 20 and the English paper scheduled for April 22 will be postponed. The new dates for these exams will be announced later. Meanwhile, due to recent rains across the province, the Education Department of Chitral has canceled the matriculation board exams that were supposed to take place on April 18, 19, and 20. The rescheduling of these canceled papers will be decided and announced soon. Education Minister Faisal Khan Tarkai chaired a meeting of education board chairpersons where this decision was made. Minister Tarkai mentioned that while there are no issues related to rains or floods in other districts of the province, all boards have timely appointed examination staff and dispatched exam papers to designated banks. He assured that all security and other necessary arrangements for the exams have been completed, with full support from the district administration and police.
