LAHORE – A man and his wife were arrested for torturing a 10-year-old maid for eating food without their permission in Johar Town area of Lahore.
The victim identified as Gulnaz Fatima was rescued after a citizen contacted the police through 15 helpline. The girl has been given into the custody of the Child Protection Bureau.
Reports said suspects Javed Iqbal and Rubab Javed thrashed the maid with wooden stick after she eaten a meal without getting permission.
The minor suffered injuries on different parts of her body. The Child Protection Department said a case has been registered against the suspects, adding that full protection will be provided to the victim.
The incident comes nearly two months after a 14-year-old maid Tayyaba was discharged from a hospital in Lahore in December 2023 as she took months to recovered after being brutally tortured by a judge and his wife.
