LAHORE – Punjab’s new government started the Ramadan Nigehban scheme to pass on relief to deserving families in the holy month but an unwanted incident in Lahore puts the whole scheme in a bad light.
The disgraceful incident happened in the Chowhang area where a truck loaded with hundreds of ration bags was attacked by a violent mob who looted the edibles bags in daylight.
The dozens of food bags, which were meant for deserving families under the government’s initiative were plundered in metropolis and that’s when Muslims are fasting and under-privileged families are waiting to get the food bags.
Clips of the mob looting went viral online and are being shared online as unidentified people can be seen looting the hampers from the truck.

It has been learnt that Lahore police lodged a case against more than dozen culprits involved in the incident under sections related to theft, interference in state affairs.
