LAHORE – Monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday with occasional gaps.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak moist currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper/central parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Mandi Bahauddin, Okara, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday with occasional gaps. Heavy rains are also expected at a few places during the forecast period.
Lahore’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 36°C and 38°C on Friday and Saturday, and between 35°C and 37°C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in most districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. However, rain occurred in isolated places.

Dera Ghazi Khan remained the hottest place in Punjab, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 43°C. The maximum temperature in Bahawalpur was recorded at 42°C.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 57 per cent.
