LAHORE – Rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Tuesday night and Wednesday with occasional gaps.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from the Arabian Sea penetrate the upper parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave also prevails over the upper parts of the country.
Under these conditions, rains and gusty winds are expected at isolated places in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Lahore, Multan and Bhakkar on Tuesday night. Heavy rains may also occur at a few places.
On Wednesday, mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most districts of the province. However, rains and gusty winds are expected at isolated places in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Lahore, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Bhakkar and surroundings.
Lahore’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 32°C and 34°C on Wednesday and 31°C and 33°C on Thursday and Friday.
Meanwhile, rains with isolated heavy falls occurred in parts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan remained the hottest places in Punjab, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. The maximum temperature in Sahiwal was recorded at 40°C.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 70 per cent.
