LAHORE – Rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Tuesday and the next two days with occasional gaps.
Heavy rains are also expected at isolated places during the period.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents penetrate the upper and central parts of Pakistan. A fresh westerly wave will likely affect the upper and western part of the country from tomorrow.
Under these conditions, hot and dry weather is expected in most districts of Punjab on Monday night. However, rains and gusty winds are expected at isolated places in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Kot Addu, Taunsa and surroundings.
On Tuesday and the next two days, rains and gusty winds are expected at isolated places in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Jhelum, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Layyah, Bhakkar, Multan, Khanewal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Kot Addu, Taunsa and surroundings. Isolated heavy rains may occur during the period.
Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38°C and 40°C on Tuesday and Wednesday, and between 37°C and 39°C on Thursday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Very hot weather prevailed in the plain areas.
Dera Ghazi Khan and Jhelum remained the hottest places in Punjab, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. The maximum temperature in Sahiwal, Bahawalpur and Sargodha was recorded at 40°C.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 31 per cent.
