The Lahore High Court gave a look of a village panchayat on Tuesday when rival parties in a love marriage case were locked in scuffles and traded punches with police tried to keep them apart.
Amid chaotic scenes, the Lahore police produced a girl — who wanted to go with her husband instead of parents — before the Lahore High Court (LHC) in the love marriage case.
The parents of the girl tried to meet their daughter to woo her back before the hearing but the girl refused to meet them which triggered a tug-of-war between the two sides with the girl’s husband in the end succeeded in saving her wife from the hullabaloo.
The police also jumped in and managed to rescue the girl being sandwiched between the rival parties and produced her before the court.
