The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) had decided to do the primary collection of waste on its own and to run cleanliness operation of the City smoothly, the company required more than 900 new vehicles for which the department has started procurement process as per PPRA rules.
Lahore Waste Management Company complying with the directions saved nearly Rs60 million as the procurement committee of the Board ensured timely bidding process and evaluation of the procurement for which the efforts of Chairman Procurement Committee Barrister Amir Zafar and other members are commendable.
Punjab LG&CD Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal and LWMC Chairman acknowledged and appreciated the efforts made for saving Rs60 million in the procurement of fleet.
The LG & CD secretary stated that the credit for saving Rs60 million goes to Chairman Procurement Committee Barrister Amir Zafar for ensuring a transparent procurement process.
He said that the first lot of machinery will be delivered before Eidul Azha and all the machinery will be mobilized in the City to ensure best cleanliness.
