Iran once again launched a barrage of ballistic missiles on the southern Israeli city of Beersheba, causing extensive financial damage. Several vehicles were burned, and a major fire broke out near the Microsoft Office area.
According to Israeli media, the attack took place on Friday morning. An Iranian missile struck a residential area, damaging nearby buildings, vehicles and infrastructure. Although no casualties have been reported, the financial loss is said to be significant.
Emergency service Magen David Adom said that firefighters and rescue teams reached the site immediately after the strike and began extinguishing the fire.
Just a day earlier, another Iranian missile had hit Beersheba’s Soroka Hospital, injuring more than 70 people.
The Israeli military stated that a possible malfunction in its interceptor defense system led to the failure in stopping the Iranian missiles.
Trump to decide on joining war within two weeks
Meanwhile, the White House has announced that President Donald Trump will decide within two weeks whether the US will take direct action in the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict.
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, during a press briefing, quoted Trump as saying he would make a decision in the coming two weeks based on the realities surrounding the possibility of negotiations with Iran.
Leavitt said Trump prefers a diplomatic resolution with Iran, but his top priority remains ensuring that Iran does not develop nuclear weapons.
She said any potential deal would aim to prevent Tehran from enriching uranium and acquiring nuclear weapon capabilities.
The spokesperson added that President Trump remains interested in diplomatic solutions, describing him as a peacemaker and a strong president through peace. However, she clarified that Trump is not afraid of using force if necessary.
When asked whether congressional approval would be needed for an attack on Iran, Leavitt said Washington believes Iran has never been closer to acquiring nuclear weapons than it is now.
She also said Trump continues to receive briefings on Israeli attacks and that Iran would face serious consequences if it does not halt its nuclear ambitions.
Iran’s most intense strike yet; large-scale destruction; Israeli defense minister threatens to kill Khamenei
Yesterday, Iran launched its most significant missile strike on Israel to date, causing widespread destruction. Over 50 Israelis were reportedly injured in the attacks, while Israel’s Defense Minister threatened to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader.
According to international media, Iran fired multiple missiles at Israel, injuring over 50 people—several of them critically.
Israeli media reported that the Iranian missiles targeted four locations, including the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and Soroka Hospital.
The missiles caused havoc in central and southern Israel, while Israeli forces reportedly targeted Iran’s Arak heavy water reactor in response.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said the conflict can now only be resolved through the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, stating, “He alone is behind these attacks, and steps will soon be taken to eliminate him.”
Iran, on the other hand, claimed it targeted the Soroka Hospital based on intelligence suggesting it housed an Israeli military base.
International news agencies reported that explosions were heard in Tel Aviv and occupied Jerusalem following the missile strikes, and several buildings were destroyed.
According to Arab media, Iran also targeted Beersheba, and dozens were injured in a missile strike in Holon. The latest offensive is being described as Iran’s largest attack on Israel in the current conflict.
Earlier, under “Operation True Promise III,” Iran had launched missiles and drones at Israel for the 11th time, using the advanced Sejjil missile for the first time.
According to Iranian media, powerful Sejjil missiles—equipped with advanced technology—were fired at Tel Aviv and Haifa. The missiles travel at high altitudes before hitting their targets accurately.
Iran claimed that several of the dozen missiles it fired successfully hit their intended targets. Sirens were heard in Israeli territory as missiles, rockets and drones entered Israeli airspace.
Although Israel activated its defense systems, they failed to intercept the latest advanced missiles, which managed to strike their targets.
