Governor Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, while addressing a special event at the Governor House to mark Youm-e-Takbeer, described May 28 as a day of national pride and sovereignty, asserting that the message delivered through Pakistan’s nuclear tests in 1998 continues to resonate powerfully, most recently through the country’s firm response to aggression on May 10.
Speaking to a gathering of dignitaries from various walks of life, the governor said that the nuclear tests conducted on May 28, 1998, stand as a historic guarantee of Pakistan’s security and independence.
He said, “The thunder of May 28 was heard again on May 10 when the enemy’s arrogance was shattered.
This day remains a powerful reminder of our national resolve and unity.
” Governor Tessori paid tribute to Pakistan’s nuclear scientists and patriotic leadership, acknowledging their role in turning Pakistan into a nuclear power.
He noted that the entire nation continues to honour and respect those who ensured the country’s defence would never be compromised.
“Youm-e-Takbeer is a golden chapter of our history, one we can never forget,” he said.
He further highlighted the leadership of Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, crediting him with instilling new spirit and confidence across the nation.
Tessori also referred to recent Indian aggression on May 10, saying the country responded with unity and strength that stunned the adversary.
“To challenge the people of Pakistan in May is to challenge a nation at its peak of resolve,” he remarked.
Condemning the recent terrorist attack in Khuzdar, Tessori said such cowardly acts cannot shake the determination of the Pakistani people.
